LOFT Organic Spicy Ginger Liqueur Caipirina

Saturday, April 18th, 2009

Happy hour was especially delicious last night thanks to LOFT Organic Liqueur– specifically, the Spicy Ginger Cello (pictured furthest left).

I made the following cocktail with it and it was delicious.  Strong and not too sweet, which is how I like ‘em.  If you like your cocktails sweet, add some simple syrup.  And if you’re a lightweight, cut the recipe in half (or better yet, share).

I added ice cubes on top of the muddled limes before adding the alcohols, then stirred.

Spicy Ginger Caipirina

2 oz LOFT Ginger Cello
2 ½ oz cachaca rum
¾ of a whole lime cut into 8 pieces (about 6 pcs.)

Muddle lime before adding other ingredients.  Do not strain. Serve in rocks glass.

Dave’s Gourmet Lucky Nuts

Wednesday, March 4th, 2009

Dave’s Lucky Nuts are both a snack and a game.  One in ten of the peanuts are extra-spicy.  Which one will it be?!

I must admit that after a few “rounds” of the game, my mouth was on fire, after which point every nut tasted super spicy.  But I couldn’t stop eating them- they were so good!  I no longer ate them daintily, one at a time, opting instead to chew entire handfuls at once.

I did manage to save half of the container to share with some friends who always enjoy food and games.  A guaranteed way to start a party off right!

Spicy Black Bean Dip by Trader Joe’s

Thursday, January 8th, 2009

Trader Joe’s Spicy Black Bean Dip is my new favorite dip.

It’s perfectly spicy and simply delicious.  It’s a good source of fiber and fat free.

With Parmesan garlic flax crackers, it’s a nutrient-powerhouse snack.

Dave’s Gourmet Organic Spicy Heirloom Marinara

Dave’s Gourmet Spicy Heirloom Marinara Organic Pasta Sauce proves that bottled pasta sauces are capable of incredible things.

1. It’s way easier and quicker than homemade.

2. It’s tastier than homemade.

3. I know this because I tried to recreate this pasta sauce.  No matter the organic spicy heirloom ingredients I threw into it, the flavors fell short.

4. Time to take on this challenge yourself… or by gifting it to someone who might be inspired to try.
