Not Blogging All Over Myself: 4

Monday, January 5th, 2009

Ideas in Food is a blog where the ideas are neither boring nor predictable, like this puffed cilantro.

Aki Kamozawa and H. Alexander Talbot are bloggers as well as authors, chefs, consultants, scientists, innovators, caterers, photographers and teachers.

Kind of makes me feel lazy.

It All Comes Back to Food

Wednesday, November 5th, 2008

Whenever I ponder something political, scientific or downright intellectual… it all comes back to food.

A first grader I know is my kindred spirit in this. Yesterday evening I was leaving his house and he said, “I know that Obama is going to win.”

“Oh yeah?” I said. “How come?”

“‘Cause yesterday I was at a store and there were two boxes of lollipops: one with donkeys and one with elephants. And all of the donkey lollipops were gone. That’s how I know.”

(Some online sleuthing concluded that he must have been referring to Jacques Torres Chocolate‘s political lollipops: McCain Lime, Orange Obama, “Mac is Back!” Macadamia and “Barack the Vote” Ground Caramel.)

Between lollipops and bake sales, Election 2008 was really all about the food. And smart kids that realized it.
