Introducing: 25 Days of Christmas Gifts

Written by Hilary on December 1st, 2008

Smorgasbite is going to celebrate Christmas for the next 25 days, profiling a wide variety of fun, food-related gifts.

What better way to start than with a fresh twist on an advent calendar? It counts down to not only Santa’s arrival but also the perfection of your recipe for cookies to be left next to the fireplace. Don’t worry, I’ll post some recipes.

Cute idea. How did thanksgiving go? I have something you may want to think about. How to get a 2 year old who has decided to eat nothing but turkey sandwiches and pickles to eat cauliflower, roasted potatoes, and brussle sprouts. I was really proud of myself when Ava ate all of my “fancy” side dish recipes from Cooking Light magazine – Cauliflower Gratin, Caramelized Brussel Sprouts with Pancetta, and Roasted potatoes in Roasted Garlic Vinegrette. Can’t wait to see you soon!

    Mary,

It sounds like you found the trick with your recipes.

From what I know about Cooking Light, it involves 1% milk, 1% cottage cheese, reduced-fat cheese and one piece of bacon, crumbled, per recipe.
